I Tried Kerrygold’s New Cinnamon and Sugar Butter, and I Want to Eat It by the Stick
Everyone has a preferred breakfast food. For some it’s eggs, and for others it’s bacon or pancakes. (And seemingly every celebrity in the world is obsessed with oatmeal. I mean, seriously, from Tom Holland to Giada de Laurentiis to Willy Nelson.) As for me, I genuinely get very excited about toast. I’m fun, I promise!
Buttered toast is one of the most delicious things to eat. I don’t care that it’s simple, the ingredients are perfect! Maybe I have a sweet spot for it because it was something that I could always make for myself, even as a child. On a rainy day, I love nothing more than curling up with a stack of toast, a cup of tea and a good book.
And if you really want to take buttered toast to the next level, you can sprinkle some cinnamon and sugar on top of it. So when I saw that Kerrygold was releasing a new cinnamon and sugar butter stick, I practically ran to Walmart to pick one up.
What is the Kerrygold cinnamon sugar butter?
Kerrygold is kind of the (ahem) gold standard when it comes to butter. The European-style butter has a high milkfat content and comes from grass-fed cows, which gives it a creamier flavor profile.
They’ve released flavored butter before, most notably their chive and onion version, which is another great toast option. But the Kerrygold cinnamon sugar butter is the brand’s first foray into sweet blends.
How does the Kerrygold cinnamon sugar butter taste?

This butter is divine. Firstly, it is jam-packed with cinnamon flavor. When I opened the packaging, I was expecting to see a normal stick of butter with a few flecks of brown. That was not the case, and the entire stick of butter is the color of a cinnamon stick. It was a little weird at first, if I’m being honest.
But I got past that weirdness almost immediately. The butter melted quickly and spread easily over my toast, even right after coming out of the fridge. I was really pleased with the texture of the butter, and as soon as it started melting it turned a deeper brown color and looked like I had poured the filling from a cinnamon roll onto my toast.
It tasted amazing. If you want cinnamon roll flavor without the hassle, then just buy this butter and put it on toast. It made me want to whip up a quick icing to drizzle over the top to complete the flavor profile.
I know that it’s summertime, but I’m already imagining how well this is going to work with all of my favorite Thanksgiving and Christmas recipes. I can’t wait to add this Kerrygold cinnamon sugar butter to a pie crust I usually make that typically uses flour, butter and cinnamon.
Where can I buy Kerrygold cinnamon sugar butter?
I bought mine at Walmart, but you can also buy the Kerrygold cinnamon and sugar butter stick at Whole Foods or online through Instacart. My local Whole Foods did not have it when I went, so Walmart might be the most reliable retailer.
I don’t know if this is going to be a permanent addition to the Kerrygold butter family or a seasonal one, but right now it seems like it will be sticking around for a while. Someone commented on Kerrygold’s Instagram post announcing the cinnamon sugar butter that “Life will never ever be the same again,” and I have to agree!
