It’s wild to think the viral comeback of the Lenox Spice Village started nearly four years ago—back in 2022, when thrifters began showing off their vintage finds on social media, sending collectors into a full-blown frenzy over these beloved ’80s spice jars.
Fast-forward to late 2024: Lenox officially announced the collection’s return. The surprise re-release? Instant chaos. The set sold out multiple times in 2024 and 2025.
The good news? It’s currently in stock, and it’s even dreamier in person. So dreamy, in fact, that we’re officially naming it the Best Gift of 2025—for home cooks, thrifting fanatics and anyone whose heart beats a little faster for vintage gems.
Editor’s note: Through December 22, 2025, Taste of Home readers can take 15% off the 24-piece Spice Village set with code SPICE15.
The iconic 24-piece spice house set that took the internet by storm.
The Lenox Spice Village first debuted in 1989 as a charming monthly subscription. You’d get the rack first, then a new tiny porcelain spice house every month, each one with a pastel roof and botanical accents. By the end, you weren’t just organizing your spice cabinet; you’d built a tiny, storybook village of 24 miniature cottages.
The series fizzled out in the early ’90s, but in recent years, the Spice Village has found new life in kitschy, grandmillennial and cottage-core design circles, with collectors showing off their finds and some original sets even hitting four figures online.
And then, it happened. 35 years after the initial debut, Lenox brought the magic back. The first wave of the revamped Spice Village dropped in 2024, staying true to the beloved aesthetic. It features pastel houses, floral details and even the signature 24-karat gold trim. And while 2024 delivered the big comeback restock, 2025 cemented the return with continued sellouts and new bundle options that made the nostalgia even harder to resist.

When Deputy Editor Katie Bandurski heard the Lenox Spice Village was returning in September 2024, she hit “pre-order” faster than you can say paprika. As a lover of vintage finds and quirky collectibles, this re-release was basically her Super Bowl.
At checkout, she learned her set wouldn’t arrive until May 2025. No sweat off her back, though. She knows some treasures are worth the wait.
Then, in mid-February, something unexpected happened: a shipping notification. After five long months, her tiny porcelain village was finally on its way, and earlier than expected.
The new village features 24 unique houses (no repeats) painted in soft purples, blues, pinks and grays, with a few variations like the salmon-hued saffron cottage and a green tarragon house. They look stunning together, like a tiny village plucked straight from a fairytale.
Each house has a removable roof for filling, and the openings are generously sized (a blessing when transferring spices). And in case you need further validation, even Martha Stewart is backing the new Spice Village on Lenox’s site. If it’s Martha-approved, you know it’s good.
Which brings us to why this is such a fantastic gift for 2025. It’s timeless, beautifully crafted, wildly collectible and guaranteed to be a hit for anyone who loves cooking, vintage treasures or simply adding a little whimsy to their kitchen.
If the nostalgia-loving foodie in your life doesn’t have this re-released set yet, trust us, this is the gift that will absolutely make their year.
Pretty pastels and hand-painted details just like the original set make the Lenox Spice Village a collector's dream.
We almost forgot—these little houses are basically inflation-proof. They’re going for about the same price as the originals from 1989. Try finding that kind of deal these days!
You can grab a single spice house for $16, one of four 6-piece sets for $75, or go all in with the full 24-piece village for $299.
Lenox isn’t stopping there, either. The Spice Village collection keeps growing, with charming additions like a line of matching kitchen gear and even an entire Christmas collection. Quaint little treasures to round out your pastel-perfect village.
