Green Bean Chili Ingredients

  • Ground beef
  • Green pepper
  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • French-style green beans
  • Mexican stewed tomatoes
  • Canned tomato sauce
  • Salsa
  • Chili powder
  • Red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper

Directions

Step 1: Brown the beef

In a large saucepan, cook the beef, green pepper, onion and garlic over medium heat until the beef is no longer pink. Drain any excess liquid.

Step 2: Add the remaining ingredients and simmer

Add the green beans, tomatoes, tomato sauce, salsa, chili powder and red pepper flakes. Bring the chili to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer it, uncovered, for 30 minutes or until it’s heated through. Season the chili with salt and pepper to taste.

How to Store Green Bean Chili

Store any leftover chili in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to four days. For longer storage, it can be frozen in a freezer-safe container for up to three months.
